Learn More about Mount Robson

Mount Robson, also named Robson Peak, is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies. It is located entirely within Mount Robson Provincial Park in British Columbia. A few 7.4 miles (12 km) west of Jasper National Park is Mount Robson Provincial Park, established in 1913 by legislation to conserve the best of the area. Located at an altitude of 12,989 feet (3,959 m) Mount Robson is the highest peak in the region of the Canadian Rockies. Climbers come from all over the world to attempt its icy flanks and summit.

The north side of Mount Robson is covered by ice, it is renowned to be a wonderful challenge to climbers who attempt to succeed through this vertical wall of rock and ice. With both a few easy routes to the summit and difficult weather conditions, the mountain is said to be seen about 14 days a year, only a few climbs a year are successful.

The must-do hike in the area is Berg Lake Trail. About 12.4 miles (20 km) to go, as much to return, 3280 feet (1000 meters) of ascent, for trained walkers only, and over two days with a night of bivouac. The beginning of this hike starts with a nice walk in the forest. On the way, you can see the famous reflection of Kinney Lake ! It's not Mount Robson in the background, but another major peak in the area: Whitehorn Mountain.

It is a truly challenging goal for those who have a number of intermediate and advanced summits under their belt. Reaching the summit of Mount Robson is for many the ultimate goal of mountaineering in the Canadian Rockies.

Visiting Mount Robson is an invitation to connect with nature and challenge yourself physically, but it's worth the effort as you'll be able to enjoy the beautiful scenery and a breathtaking view of the lake.
